So mad I could spit!

July 19th, 2007 at 04:11 am

If I was a swearer (is that a word??),I'd be swearing!

We have used Sunrocket for the last year and a half for our long distance VOIP phone. Two days ago they closed their business but didn't bother to tell their customers. So, here we sit without any long distance. Plus, you pay a year in advance, so "Bye, bye $200"!

So much for saving money by using their services. Hopefully I'll cool off in a day or two and just be able to chalk it up to a good lesson learned.

Wow! I was a SunRocket customer for a short while til they had routing problems and they couldn't fix it. Frown That really sucks!

We just took over a new house to fix. The lady got ripped off for over $100,000. I hope that makes you feel a little better.

I don't know where you live, but if they took your money for services nont rendered, you have a right to a refund. Complain to the state attorney general's office for starters. If there were others like you, there could be grounds for a class-action suit.

This sounds similar to what happened to me with a heating oil supplier who took a lot of people's money in my area, then didn't deliver, later went out of business. Several years later, state atty. general will be getting us partial refunds, the guy is bankrupt, but it's something.

Yeah, I know that in the grand scheme of things, $200 isn't a huge amount. I just get so frustrated when people get taken. Plus, we've been busting our butts to get this debt paid off . . . I know I just need to let it go, and it is getting better. Smile

I'm going to my bank this morning to file a complaint, since I used our debit/credit card for the payments. Makes me wish I'd used a regular credit card, as I'm told it's easier getting money back thru a regular credit card. I'm hoping that they'll be able to recoup something, but I'm suspecting that SunRocket has probably frozen their accounts, etc.

I've learned some lessons: Stick with a tried and true company, Use a true credit card for all online purchases (so we have some recourse). Will be watching for other lessons to be learned from this. Smile

Whew! I'm so sorry for your bad luck, but it makes me glad that I just decided to stick with AT&T!
